Our second Sino-German innovation in healthcare delivery and facility forum held in Shenzhen, China

For the second year now; Nickl Academy organizes its second “Sino-German Innovation in Healthcare Facility Design & Management Conference”, which was held successfully on Friday the 25th of October in Shenzhen, in cooperation with Shenzhen Hospitals Association and Nickl & Partner China. This year, the conference took the title “Smart Hospital” to draw the attention on how innovation contributes to the quality of healthcare services provision. And the fact that the conference took place at the Peking University Shenzhen Hospital this year, gave the participants an excellent chance to witness an acknowledged example of a Smart Hospital in the region.

The representation of recognized state authorities and associations in Shenzhen was a success of this year´s conference, including the Chairman of Shenzhen Hospitals Association, Mr. Chen Qiu who highlighted the importance of innovation in improving the quality of humans’ wellbeing and encouraged further efforts to promote innovation in healthcare sector and other sectors as well. In addition to representatives from both Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, and the Public Works Bureau – Center of Engineering Management Design.

And to promote an effective knowledge-share, the European side was also present by several guests of Honor including Mr. Ortwin Schulte, the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of German to the European Union, and Dr. Lucie Merkle, the Chief Representative of State of Bavaria Office in China. Both emphasizes on the role of government in promoting healthcare innovation and the encouraged the Academy for such important knowledge-share initiatives.

As our aim is always to bring a group of experts from different discipline in the healthcare design and management field to enrich the discussion on this topic, the participation of both Prof. Hans Nickl and Prof. Christine Nickl-Weller was a highlight of our conference in Shenzhen, as both represented the successful story of Nickl´s strategy throughout the last 4o years. Which is always reflected by their tremendous efforts in supporting research and promoting innovative design solutions. Their participation was highly appreciated in Shenzhen and both were interviewed by the media channels.

Nickl Academy and in cooperation with its partners in China; kicked off the preparation of its third annual conference “Sino-German Innovation in Healthcare Facility Design & Management”, which will be organized and held in November 2020. Both topic and location will be announced early in 2020.
